The new official and public release of CD Art Display is out!
CD Art Display 2.0.1 is a minor update that adds support for the new and encrypted Amazon.com API. Now CD Art Display search cover module (now version 2.0.2) can properly download covers from Amazon.com again.
In addition, CD Art Display screensaver module (now version 2.0.1) was updated just to remove application process APIs due some antivirus softwares false positive. Note that top notch antivirus, such as NOD32, were not detecting the screensaver module as a malware.
By the way, CD Art Display was using those APIs just to find if CAD.exe process was running or not. It was added during CD Art Display 2.0 beta because the regular FindWindow API was not working properly in an user PC. The original file with the process APIs will be available for those with such issues.
Finally, the main program (CAD.exe) was not changed so it is still labeled as 2.0.

Since August 15th, 2009 Amazon changed the way an application should request for any information including CD cover images. Now a request should be encrypted.
As a consequence, CD Art Display 2.0 search cover feature doesn't work anymore.
Fortunately there is a new search module (alpha version I may say) under testing, available for Premium Users for this purpose, that is working very well so far.
After some feedback and fine tuning the new module will be available for all users as always.
If you use this CD Art Display feature make sure to visit us next week because the new module should be ready for a public release.

After a long period of tests and builds CD Art Display 2.0 (final) is available for all! FileForum, our official file host provider, still lists as a beta but it's in fact the final version.
There a lot of new features, including Skin Editor with real time preview, slideshow, full screen skin, screensaver module, several skin elements and so on.
Along with the release let me remember all that CD Art Display has, thanks to OtisBee, its own skin gallery at deviantArt.

I got this error yesterday but it was working properly today. It's probably because the Amazon service is temporarily down. Make another test later.

zhenhua323, it can be an unicode issue. Anyway, try to install/reinstall Visual Basic runtime files (see Download section). It solved for a forum user.

well,i installed the Visual Basic 6.0 and restarted my pc,but it was still can't work.anyway, i didn't know how to uninst Visual Basic 6.0(i can't find it,sorry),i was just install it!

Yes, it works with Windows 7 (same requirements as Vista).
Works well, would be better if it had better lyrics search though, and the option to had beat vis to the skin.
