Problems with WLM interaction

Hi, I am a CD Art Display user, which is great, but I have a little problem with WLM interaction. I select "Update Display Picture" but it never shows up as an avatar. I use Foobar v0.8.3, and I have API emulator. I have tried many different ways, but with no result. Any help will be great. Thanks in advance :)

You probably need to install (or reinstall) the old Windows Messenger (the one that comes with Windows XP).

Thx :) It kind of work, now the "no cover" logo appears on WLM, but CD Art Display keeps crashing all the time. I have reinstal it a few times, with no luck. What can be the problem?

This is my recommendation considering other users feedback:

- Uninstall CAD
- Uninstall Messenger
- Reboot :(
- Install Messenger (if you have the 4.x you can try it or just install the 5.1 version)
- Reboot again :(
- Install CAD
- Make some tests

Hi Carlos; thanks for this program.

I have the same problem as above - display picture in wlm not updating. Using winamp 5.3.

I tried your suggestion - uninstall, reboot, reinstall, etc. with no success, hence my post :)

Since that didn't work I rolled back msn messenger to version 6.4, then updgraded to the latest version (8.1.0106). No luck either.

Finally I upgraded CAD to build 176, and it still does not work :)


Tried with the options "Update display picture" and "Update both".
The "Set default display picture" feature is not working either.
Also tried "Refresh cover after track change" on/off.

Using the default skin.
Covers folder : C:\Shared\Music\Covers\
Covers saving pattern : %coverfolder%%artist% - %album%.jpg


The wlm personal message is changing fine though.

I've also noticed something else;
I've set CAD to "Act as a notifier" (pops up for 12 secs then disappears on track change), but sometimes only the cover pops up, with no text (or stars or slider) and does not disappear.

What "Messenger" (not MSN or WLM) version did you try to install or reinstall? In order to DP works you need the old XP Messenger installed.

ASAP I'll test the "act as notifier".

Hi Carlos,

So installing the old windows messenger (version 5.1 available here (http://download.microsoft.com/download/e/b/3/eb3b95c6-b6e3-47f6-bcd1-466ad173f407/messenger.msi)) fixed the cover change problem.

Now regarding the "Act as notifier" problem, I didn't test it but it might be due to the Interaction option "Follow player window state" being enabled.

I think you're right: the two features are not compatible.
