Looks very strange. ???
Have you tried to delete and reinstall the skin?
Which OS are you using? Looks like a transparency problem or something...

Yes, I've tried everything you wrote. Maybe it's GDI problem?
My OS: WindowsXP Pro SP2

is it possible that the "pin to desktop" has something to do with it?

Ok.
Which version of CAD are you using? And the problems occur only with this specific skin?
Go to the CAD skin folder. Delete the Abandon Slim folder and install a fresh downloaded copy of the skin. Be sure to use the latest CAD build.
It works fine for everyone else.

i was recently told that under some rare circumstances CAD can act rather strangely if used with AveDesk.
so, if you have AveDesk installed try deactivating it and see if it'd make any difference.

Any program that interact with Windows desktop may cause strange things, even virtual desktops. Try to disable some programs.
