CD Art Display RC5 Build 40 (07Oct2006)

WMPuICE was developed by MediaTexx: http://www.mediatexx.com/
Again I'd like to thanks to zachdms who gave me the start point to add WMP support!
Requirements
- Windows XP
- Visual basic run-time SP6
- wmpuice.dll (included in the zip file along with the Readme.txt to instruct how to install the file)

Question: Must you install the WMP plugin for the latest version to work, or only if you want WMP support?

Only for WMP support. :)

CAD RC 5 Build 48 (08Oct06)
- CAD uses wmpuice.dll (*) now instead Song Signature plugin
- Due the new approach now you can: set song rating (using fancy rating, context menu or hotkeys); display current time and progress bar; use WML interaction with all CAD features; access to all used tags (including year, track number and genre)
(*) Installation: close CAD and WMP and copy the file into "...\Windows\System32\" folder and go to "Start>Run" and type: regsvr32 wmpuice.dll
Download (including wmpuice.dll):

- Mirror effect bug fixed

Hint: I made some CAD tweaks so you can use it as a notifier:
1) set its window "Always on Top" (mouse right click)
2) "CP>Options" and check "Show notifier for" and "Hide case too"
That should do the trick! :)

Carlos, the new notifier mode is pretty cool! I love it, and it might be the thing that will make me ditch Toaster.
The thing is... I'd like CAD to pin itself to the desktop after acting as a notifier. Would that be possible? I think the hardest part would be to add that to the interface without making it too confusing, huh?
Oh, and you should close one of the threads so there's only one for the current CAD build. :)

I think it's possible and you're right: WE should think on how to place this option. Maybe we could group some notifier options. This way we can even make clear how to set up CAD to act like a notifier (maybe an option). What do you think?
I intend to make a RC6 topic as soon as possible with all recent fixes and the main new features (WMP support and better foobar2000 support).

I've deleted your first post as you asked me! Welcome to the forum by the way! :)

There's a bug that has something to do with minimizing everything to the desktop. It may be hard to reproduce because I find it hard to believe nobody has noticed it before.
I use CAD the following way: pinned and locked in position to the desktop (sort of like a desktop widget), it displays the album art and the song info (notifier) for as long as winamp as running.
Once I click "Show Desktop" icon (in the Quick Launch in the taskbar), it minimizes everything and I see my desktop (the only time I see CAD), everything is fine, I can see the album art and the notifier, but once the song changes the notifier disappears.
I know the notifier is there in some form, but probably minimized with the rest of my windows. I know because when I click the "Show Desktop" again, it shows everything back, and the notifier shows the new song.
I hope I made myself clear.
Let me know if that's a problem on my end, thanks.

You don't say 8)
I have a feature request, I hope it's ok...
I noticed many of my covers have thin white edges around them that weren't supposed to be there. I think it's because whoever scanned those covers didn't perfectly align them, and so the automatic cropping of the scanner got confused, it happens to scanned photos all the time. These edges are usually not more than 2px thick but it doesn't look very nice (when the rest of the cover is dark, and the skin has a shadow).
Is there any chance to see a (manual-)cropping feature to get rid of those white edges in a future CAD release?
BTW I don't get my covers from some obscure amateur place, I get them where most people get them, amazon.com/.co.uk/.de/walmart.com/etc, so I believe most people's covers are like that.
Thanks.
