hi there! :)

"CD-Art-Display" (http://cd-art-display.deviantart.com/) has been accepted to become a "Group" over at deviantART (link) (http://cd-art-display.deviantart.com/).

in case you haven't heard about the new group feature on dA yet, here's a link with everything there is to know about:
Groups on deviantART (http://hq.deviantart.com/blog/28730848/)

well, you might be disappointed that i did this all on my own without even telling or asking any of you, but then again i was confident in the fact that you simply love the idea just as much as i do.

since it is possible to have as much administrators for a group as possible, it is of course possible to put my fellow administrators of this forum in charge there as well. ;)

the nice thing about a group is that it could be run by far more people than just one single guy who alone would have access to what was basically a usual member account on dA before.

either way, i hope you don't mind me making the first steps there.
i keep you posted about the progress.

now tell me what you think. :)

Ha, ha! :D
In fact I thought about a CAD group this morning as well.
But I haven't understood how it works (at least completely understood).

That you have made the first step is great.
I'll look for some more informations and i'm eager to see the progress we make with the group, and hope we will get loads of members.

Some months (or a year?) ago, we discussed about a club just for CAD. But now everything
looks easier (administration and so on).

I'm excited! :)

yeah, the group feature seems to be well developped and an access to it is really a childs play.
there's no need to share login passwords or whatsoever as it will all take place via a members message center.
so, once any of you has been accepted to be a contributor or admin etc. you'd be notified and can edit the group immediately. :)

i'm sure there's something for you too, eos8. ;)

btw., once the CD-Art Display group has been accepted by dA i plan on converting it to a "Super Group" (http://www.deviantart.com/supergroup/?forgroupid=12314910) immediately.
don't worry about the costs for that as i decided to cover that one completely.

i think a "Super Group" would draw a lot more attention (as it will be listed with a higher ranking in the overall groups index) and besides, since CD-Art-Display will be the one and only official CAD group on dA, i think that it'll be by all means and in any way a "Super Group" anyhow.
so making it a "Super Group" basically reflects the professionality of the CAD company (if i may say so). :)

well, maybe we can take this forum topic to also collect some ideas and necessities for the upcoming CD-Art-Display group.

for instance i'd like to know if you Carlos, barberio and Operator are okay with the idea to become administrators of that group and help me out to run that place.

right from the start it has always been my idea to make this our group rather than my group alone.
as i said, it'll be the official CAD group and so it comes only naturally that we all run the group together.

well, at least i hope so.
of course you're free to say "no" at any time and i don't want you to feel obliged or anything, just because i started this without even discussing it with you beforehand.

if everything works out nicely then having that CAD group on dA shouldn't interfere with our forum at all.
personally i think, that we shouldn't fear the group to maybe become a "threat" for our forum.
the forum for itself has always been and always will be a top address for bug-reports and other issues regarding the technical side of CAD and i think we should keep it that way.

but... since dA is bestknown for its massive amount of customizing art, it also became fact that CAD has become an essential item for a desktop customizing community and i think that people are eager to show their flags for this our beloved little app.

honestly, i expect this group to become nothing short of being just massive.
...and i'll definitely need your help on this.

i know we all have our everyday lifes and jobs and so the most important thing will be to avoid any form of stress, rush or pressure.
it's fun we should keep in our minds and we have all the time in the world to enjoy that fun.

of course there'll be quite some work to do once the group has started, but i don't expect it to be more work than we had when we changed our forum software and the according visual appearance.

anyways, ... i'm sooooooo looking forward to this group and once again i'd like to point out that it's not my group i created there. it's the CAD group. it's our group. :D

I´m totally with the super group idea.
The group #customizers are planning to do the same. To make this happen they are planning to open a paypal account where all members can donate some money. I´m willing to spent some and so I´m to do with the all-new cad group!

Count me in for admin!

Haven't read everything in detail - no time. Came from work and have to do the first shift tomorrow. But converting to a super-group sound great. The "Customizers" group do so too.
And I'm looking forward to the CAD group.
Will be a damn fine thing I hope! :)
Sure you can count me in as admin. And I will do my best, to make this group a worthy CAd group.

...more tomorrow. :D
