Hi,
I'm new to CAD and searched the forum but couldn't get an answer.

Is it possible to use cleartype for the text rendering, I saw a lot of skins and screenshots of CAD and the font was too smooth for my taste. Also I want to made a string something like
"Song by Artist on Album" but the "by" and "on" in a different color. Can you define different text colors in a string

and another question, since CAD can use the Aero blur effect, is it possible only to define some areas of the skin to use this effect

for example I have a text string (see above) and some images for the control/cover and only want to blur the controls/cover and not the whole skin area

thanks
-Chris

Hi chiwou, and welcome to the forum. :)

It's not possible to use smooth or antialiasing on the fonts as far as I know.
You can reach a better result sometimes by playing with the text-style options.
Maybe the text in the previews has been done with PS or a similar app. That's not unusual.
Many previews are done this way.

Can you define different text colors in a string
Definitively no. Only one color scheme per textline.

since CAD can use the Aero blur effect, is it possible only to define some areas of the skin to use this effect
You can define blur for different skin parts by clicking the dropdownmenu in the proper section (Windows Vista Aero Blur). Then define width, Height etc in the bottom part of the section. Note, that you should use Vista to "see" this effect at all.

Hope that helps. :)

Okay but then why is the font so soft, I don't know when I use SegoeUI or Calibri, the font doesn't look like the rest of my windows, too "smooth" :D

Definitively no. Only one color scheme per textline.
Too bad :(

Hope that helps. :)
