Today I tried to change the fonts of my CD Art Display and I got the following error message:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v190/Bozack/uhhh.jpg
I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, and I'm still getting the message.. :( Does anyone have any idea of what I need to do in order to resolve my issue? I've used this application for months and love it.. I have no idea how this even happened.. I'm wondering if this has anything to do with recent Windows Update installations? :(

Uninstall CAD, delete its folder and install the last CAD RC preview (#6):

By the way, I can't reproduce the issue.

Still having the same problem.. I appreciate the help though, Carlos! :)
I did notice that even after the uninstall/reinstall, CDArt Display still kept my individual song ratings.. maybe I didn't completely uninstall correctly?

Did you try to restart your PC?
Hyphy

Yep, I restarted as well.. but yes, that error message comes up anytime I try to save any changes in the Control Panel.. :(

Please test the following build (it should give more details about the error):
http://www.closetosoftware.com/temp/CADdbtest.zip
In addition, zip and send me your "settings.ini" as well as your current "skin.ini".
Finally, what's your player?
Hyphy

The link to that test build is dead.. :(
Here's the link to my settings and skin ini files..

And I am using Winamp..
Thanks for the help Carlos.. greatly appreciated!

Are you using Windows Vista 64-bit? If so, your path needs to be:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\CD Art Display\Skins\DC Tunes\"

The error is not making much sense for me.
Your ini shows you're using "Case Mirrored" skin and the error says you're trying to edit "DC Tunes" skin.
Please:
1. close both player and CAD
2. backup your "settings.ini" (from CAD folder)
3. delete your "settings.ini"
4. start your player
5. start CAD (now you should see the default skin: Case)
6. Open CAD Control Panel, change the font and press Apply or OK
Let me know the result.

Just tried that, and got this again:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v190/Bozack/uhhh.jpg
And it doesn't just happen when I try to change the font, it happens when I try to change anything in the control panel.. :(

1. Do you get the error just once? Or several times after pressing OK or Apply?
2. Regardless the error the change you made takes effect (e.g. the font is in fact changed)?
Thanks! :)

1. Several times.. with the RC5 or 6 build it happens twice, with the test build it happens like 6 or 7 times..
2. No, whatever change I tried to make does not take effect, even after the error message..

Hyphy,
Something is locking CAD file operation (write) in a unusual way in your PC. Maybe your antivirus?
Are you using XP?
In order to update the ini file CAD writes it several times and open and close file operation several times. Nothing new here but your system for some reason is not accepting that.
As far as I know you're the only one with such problem.
I'll try to see if I can make an alternative procedure in order to update the ini file...

As far as anti-virus software goes, I'm using AVG 7.5.. I've been using both AVG and CD Art Display for a while now with no problems.. but if it is my anti-virus, I'd definitely be surprised..
And yes, I'm using XP Home..

Please test this build:

This build uses INI API instead a write file procedure. The problem is that INI has some limitations.

Thanks so much for your help and dilligence, Carlos! It is greatly appreciated!!!
Although now it's doing this weird thing were the covers don't load.. I tried the Case, Case Mirrored, and DC Tunes skins and they all do this:

I've changed a procedure in order to test ID3 cover only. Try this:
http://www.closetosoftware.com/temp/cadlog7.zip
Soon I'll post a build without any log procedure.
