Right now, I have both programs (CAD and iTunes) to run on computer startup.

CAD automatically minimizes, but is there any way to make iTunes automatically minimize into the taskbar upon startup?

I think that you can edit/create a link to start iTunes minimized then place it at start up list or something like that.

Using Cad 2.0 and setting it to start iTunes works fantastic. However whether the player option for the window is set to Minimized or Maximized, iTunes stays in the Normal window. Is this a problem with iTunes not responding to CAD?

CAD uses a common Windows API to start an application and it seems iTunes does not respond to it as expected. I'll see if I find a solution.

Yes. I have just updated the iTunes code and it is working now.

As I said in other topic I hope to release a public beta still this year.

Right now I still have to fine tune SDK and Notifier.

I've uninstalled/reinstalled itunes along with CAD, plus read through all these forums figuring out if somebody could relate to me.

When I hit play on CAD all it does is pop up my itunes, it doesn't even automatically play anything for me what so ever. I have everything checked, going the right direction. Nothing works. Obviously this must be me, so what am I doing wrong?

I am having the exact same problem, since i updated Itunes to v9, i have uninstalled CAD and reinstalled the latest version 2.0.1 but it will not display the cover art or allow you to play songs The only thing it is able to do is start the Itunes program.

1. Make sure to install Visual Basic runtime 6 SP6 (see Download page) and restart your PC

2. Diable or uninstall any other iTunes plugin such as Last.fm

3. Start iTunes and play a song

4. Start CAD, then open “Options>Player”, then select iTunes, then click the “Save” icon at top right

5. Restart CAD

PS: you can still try to take CAD and iTunes folders ownership in case you’re using Vista/Win7.

Finally, I’ll install Win7 and iTunes 9 later this week and I’ll make more tests. Stay tuned.

I have tried all of the above and it still won't work, i was using CAD with Itunes 8 for quite a while and it was working fine but after updating to Itunes v9.0.1 it has stopped working. My operating system is Windows XP. As i said previously if i start CAD without Itunes being started and press the play button on CAD it will open Itunes but it doesn't play any songs and when you press play in Itunes, CAD shows nothing.

Hope you can help.

Okay, I have solved it, when i updated Itunes the last time i did it via the Itunes updater, this time i removed Itunes completely and downloaded a fresh version (9.0.2) and installed it and CAD is now working.

In fact, I never used the updater but I can’t tell if that’s the problem.

Thank you for your feedback.

I too was having problems with CD art display not working with iTunes after updating to 9.0.2 and was worried about uninstalling and re installing iTunes as suggested. The good news is I didn't need to!

Go to Control panel
Go to add and remove programs
Choose the "change" option on iTunes
Choose the repair option

It took 5 seconds and now CD art display is again working :)
