- Opacity for Case/cover
- Opacity for Fancy ratings
- Opacity for Progress bar

I know it's beta but in case you'd like to know....

I installed Windows Vista Public Beta 2 (build 5384)
and Winamp 5.23. It's working fine until I install your
winamp plugin (then Winamp won't even start up).
if I rename the two .dll and relaunch Winamp, it opens
once again.

cheers!

Wow, the new "Just Cover" skin is pretty cool!

Carlos, do you think you could change the "%Song's folder\%", "%Song's up folder\%", and "%Cover's folder\%" tags to:
"%Song's folder%\", "%Song's up folder%\", and "%Cover's folder%\"?
I think it makes more sense that way, and it looks better like this:

%Song's folder%\folder.jpg :)
than like this
%Song's folder\%folder.jpg :(

Also, I would rather have it like "%songfolder%\" instead of having spaces and apostrophes in there. It would be a good idea for CAD to follow the Winamp ATF convention (http://www.myplugins.info/winamp-wiki/doku.php/advanced_title_formatting) because a lot of people already know it and use it comfortably, so making your tags look as much as possible like those (by removing spaces, etc) will be appreciated. :)

And after you've renamed the dlls did CAD work?

Nice release, good to see the features pouring in.

Maybe a feature to think about in the future, something a friend suggested to me :

Make it read from a folder for each album, inside the folder you could have the album art (liner notes, etc), then be able to set a variable for how fast it switches between images.

Also how about a less harsh transition between covers, the whole thing flashing is kinda harsh on the eyes. Maybe make the text and progress bar and all that constant, but put a quick pulse fade on the cover itself that fades to grey then to the next cover

Hm, like a slideshow? For that you should use DeskPhoto. :)

The other suggestion seems like a nice idea, though. It would be nice to see the transitions between covers improved a bit. Maybe add a couple of transitions?

But honestly, I think it's time to stop adding more features for a while, and polishing the existing ones instead. It's time to get CAD out of beta and bring it to the masses! :D

In addition you can turn "fade in" effect off so it won't flash ("CP>Options").

The speediest the PC the less interesting is the fade effect. It's something to be improved.

Finally noroom is right it's time to release the final 1.0 (more than one year of beta stage).

yes! I have to set CAD to launch Winamp (instead of the other way around) and everything seems to work except the "fade in effect" (I had to disable it or I couldn't target the album cover/skin, it was showing but it was just like clicking through it and targeting what's behind it) and the "show cover as icon in system tray" option doesn't show anything in my system tray when turned on.... I'll post more infos as I encounter problems and /or resolve them

:D

Jorell,

When you have time try to use one of the compatibility mode (or something like that).

At least some part of the program is Vista ready! :D

I found a way to have the fade in effect work:

http://aycu35.webshots.com/image/1874/1850152551241022271_th.jpg (http://allyoucanupload.webshots.com/viewimage?imageID=1850152551241022271) http://aycu19.webshots.com/image/618/1270957178190371696_th.jpg (http://allyoucanupload.webshots.com/viewimage?imageID=1270957178190371696)

It seems to disable some visual features while it's running though.

Fair enough, how about a simple speed bar to control the fade effect? That shouldnt be too hard :P

FuNiOnZ,

The fade in will be REALLY better when I add fade out effect. But it'll give me a lot of work, believe me. So it'll be done when I have time, a lot of it! :)

But I've made two more option to adjust the fade in effect. So now you have: (None), Fast (the default value), Medium and Slow.

You missed my post?

Carlos
06-16-2006, 09:19 PM
Of course not! :)

I think I'll change this but I also think the user should not worry about backslash in my opinion:

%songfolder%folder.jpg
%coverfolder%My Covers\%album%.jpg

What do you think?

PS: of course I can try to filter a double backslash wrote by mistake...

noroom
06-16-2006, 09:40 PM
Well, I agree that it would be easier that way, but I am suggesting you to implement it that way because so many programs already do it the same way and so many users have already learned to use it. I personally would find it confusing if CAD used a very very similar format, but treated the backslashes differently.

Do you know what I mean?
