Skin Gallery suggestion

It would be cool if there was a badge that showed that the skin had been updated for the newest version of CAD. This would be useful in the Skin Gallery so users could browse the large selection and quickly see which ones were updated for the newest beta or last stable version.

we've thought about this a couple of times and of course there are different opinions on this. :)
one thing is for sure though...
...all skins in the gallery are working properly if you have the latest build installed.

there have also been some suggestions to have direct download links in the gallery as well, but personally as a designer i like the fact that if you click on a thumb you'd be directed to the skin's according release topic and get all the info on the skin the designer thought you should know about.
maybe the gallery can be considered as some sort of an index or a teaser-gallery.
i like the term 'teaser' here, because if you are using CAD1.0 and then you eventually would navigate to our Skin Gallery and discover a skin you feel pretty much attracted to, which we could assume is an 1.1 compatible skin, there wouldn't be any reason to be disappointed because of incomatibility reasons. instead you might become curious to find out more about CAD1.1 and all the new features added to it.
luckily the newest build is just a few clicks away. :D

also the Skin Gallery can be considered as 'the entry' to our forum.
a forum where skinning and development is happening now.
requests and suggestions can be made as well as issues and bugs can be reported (for both skins and CAD) to keep alive the progress and improvement CAD is so much depending on.

but...
...we try to 'slow down' a user (in a good matter of course) so he doesn't just rush in, download a few skins and then disappear again.
our aim is to invite a user to go a few steps deeper.
and who knows...
...maybe one or another user becomes a member and feels keen enough to leave a few lines just to let us know about his thoughts regarding the skins and CAD or whatever.

this leads me back to your suggestion.
personally i think that each skin release topic provides enough info whether it is compatible to your actual CAD version or not.
besides, every 1.1 skin topic in the board is tagged with this icon: http://i7.tinypic.com/6azhvfs.gif

but hey...
...i didn't mean to overrule any other opinion on this.
let's see what others think about it.
