hi TomTom!
...and welcome to the forum.
:)

you sure know how to handle your image editor.
this is quite a nice assembly of some nice looking graphics.
and what a great screenshot that is. :D

a pity though that we didn't get the chance to see some of your own graphics. :(

anyway...
...this is an awesome skin concept.

oh and btw...
...since they are not supported there's no need to put play3.png, next3.png, prev3.png and pause3.png into the toolbar folder.

here's a short list of the supported main toolbar buttons:

play.png = normal state
play1.png = mouse over state
play2.png = mouse press state

prev.png = normal state
prev1.png = mouse over state
prev2.png = mouse press state

next.png = normal state
next1.png = mouse over state
next2.png = mouse press state

in addition i would like to suggest that you add a preview.jpg (or png) as well as some nocover images (at least nocover.png and searching.png) to your skin.
these are basic skin components which i think your skin shouldn't fail to offer. ;)

thx for your submission.

What do you mean by taking a screenshot of one's iTunes libary to make our own background image? For one, I don't use iTunes, and two, I've never seen iTunes display cover artwork as such. I'm guessing you mean take a screenshot of it to have thumbnails to cut, paste and tweak? You'd have to give us n00b's a Photoshop template or something to do what you did. Hint, hint... ;D

Should give you an idea :)

sorry guys, sorry TomTom...

...i'm seriously concerned whether this skin is using other skinners' graphics or not.
that's why i have moved the topic to this board.

it is no problem to post links to your own or other skins here, but as long as it isn't clear if any copyright has been violated cdartdisplay.com will not host such skins.

so for now there won't be any submission of this skin to our skin gallery.
sorry. ;)

unless of course you can provide your contact adress plus an according comment regarding a permission to use other skinners' graphics inside of a skin, meaning as an included permission.txt or as part of the skin.ini (author=, contact=, comment=).
at least a reference note like: "this skin was inspired by..." or "this skin is using graphics from..."
as long as you put your name (email-adress) to it, there might be a chance to submit such skin, because in case of a complaint about copyright violation there would be someone that could be made responsible for that.

i'm sure you'll understand. ;)

thx

I re did these graphics myself using itunes as a guide.
The coversutra skin I taken down off my DA when discussing it with a friend who uploaded their coversutra skin.

in addition i would like to suggest that you add a preview.jpg (or png) as well as some nocover images (at least nocover.png and searching.png) to your skin.
these are basic skin components which i think your skin shouldn't fail to offer.

besides it is necessary to include the font file (Lucida Sans Unicode) as well as your author details.
...open the skin.ini in windows' editor and add

author=TomTom
contact=xx@xx.xx

xx@xx.xx = your email adress.

then upload the skin again (doesn't have to be at deviantART), edit the download link and i'll move the topic back to the Skin Releases board.
once done, your CoverFlow will soon be part of our Skin Gallery.

hi TomTom!

i know we've had some sort of a bad start involving all the CoverSutra-copyright-infringement-stuff and me moving your CoverFlow to this Skin Talk board.
i never intended to attack you or something.
as a moderator of this forum it's not always easy to put down a skin without sounding offensive in a way.
that's why i can truly understand if you'd have some issues with me.

on the other hand i've never claimed that your CoverFlow won't be submitted to our gallery.
if you read my previous post again, you'll notice that it only takes a few tweaks in your skin setup and nothing would stand against your skin being part of the Skin Release board and an according upload to our skin gallery.

you see it is written in the General Post Guidelines (link) (http://www.cdartdisplay.com/forum/index.php?topic=355.0) that:

in the Skin Gallery every skin will be added if...

-the skin is a compatible skin to CAD 1.0
-the skin is really ready to be released (no beta, no under development or anything like that)
-the skin is not using other skinners material unless a given permission.
-the skin is providing at least an author name in the skin's skin.ini. a mail-adr. is recommended but not mandatory. if the skin is a port or is using other skinners material, this has to be mentioned in the skin.ini as well. (*)
-the skin has been released (or was posted) in this section: http://www.cdartdisplay.com/forum/index.php?board=10.0

(*) = open the skin.ini in any text editor (windows' default would also do the job) and make some sort of the following entry:
for CAD1.0 Author=your-nick-or name
Contact=blabla@blabla.bla
Comments=all credits go out to blablabla who gave me permission to use his graphics

for CAD2.0 [Author]
Author=your-nick-or name
Contact=blabla@blabla.bla
Comments=all credits go out to blablabla who gave me permission to use his graphics

so i can only repeat myself...
...please add your author info to the skin.ini and update your download link and ASAP i'll add your skin to our gallery.
you can even start a new topic in the Skin Release board if you want, so all the hassle going on in this thread here wouldn't be part of it. ;)

please excuse my duty to be such a PIA sometimes.
;D

kind regards....

Oh I understand all that technical stuff. I wouldn't want to be slapped with a law suit either :P

Right now I'm in the process of moving stuff from my old DA account imwalkingwithaghost.deviantart.com to my new DA account sketched-dreams.deviantart.com

I haven't updated anything just yet though, but I will soon ;)
