I am very proud to be the first one who replies to your post.
Dude, I love your skin! It has developed very well and your little boy has grown big :D
Apropos "Big": Do you plan to make an even smaller version of your skin as well?
Again: Congratulations on this impressive skin release!

thx Operator,
i appreciate that!
;D
the image above is showing the smaller version. it's ThaScreenario's 80
style.
80 meaning 80% zoom.
i tried to make it even smaller but it would result in a lack of readability (i.e. titlebar tags or ext. panel tags).
so to answer your question: no, i don't plan to make an even smaller version.
sorry
;)
thx again!

@ OtisBee:
Thanks for your quick answer!
no, i don't plan to make an even smaller version.
No problem at all. Then I just need to buy a second monitor for your skin ^^.
No, seriously: I won't be able to use your skin everyday because it's too big, but hey: I can use it for "special events" like Parties to show others what's currenty playing :)
OtisBee! :)
what a skin,
you have almost everything here
apart from
1.progress bar mouse over effect
2.volume mouse over effect
really great skin thanks!

My fav skin for CAD, although the artwork reflection doesnt line up with the rest of the reflections.
See here:

But seriously, this skin is awesome!
Btw i fixed it myself using skin editor, but i just thought id point it out incase you hadnt noticed, i understand if you intended for it to be like that though

it didnt upload to imageshack properly apparently, im using the port/starport 80 subskin, and the volume and rating reflections are higher than the album art's reflection, which can look odd with certain wallpapers, but its easily tweaked to the users preference so no worrys
OtisBee
11-30-2007, 08:43 PM
ah, i see.
that was in fact intentional.
perspectively speaking i wanted the ratings and volumebar to appear a little more in the back.
apparently it didn't work out as it should have. :(
anyway, i'm glad that you found a workaround by yourself. :D

I assumed that was the look you were going for and it works well on a lot of backgrounds, but on photos with reflections in water etc, its nice to have all the reflections lined up if you know what i mean.
Also, do you have PSD files for the case.png, as id like to remove this line from the background:
http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/88/copyofcasenb2.th.png (http://img147.imageshack.us/my.php?image=copyofcasenb2.png)
I know im picky :P
I like the 3d perspective of it, but im just going for a flat look style so i just want to make the background a plain black if you know what i mean :)

That is very impressive, OBee. I just downloaded it and put it on my HTPC and it couldn't look better. Here's a screenshot of my HTPC. (http://www.xious.com/HTPC_CAD.jpg)
I've been moving into my new house, so I haven't been able to keep up with the progress. When I emailed you, it was about the time I took everything offline and started to move. I barely got some things set up yesterday and thought I would check out the new skin. Definitely an amazing work. Once I get my real PC up and running, I'll send you the skin I was working on. After looking at this one, it might pale in comparison. But I'm always up for criticism.
Anyways, great job. It will be the skin I use on my HTPC for a long time.

That's another impressive and unique skin with OtisBee signature! 8)
I think that's the first skin that was made to be big and it's a great way to show now playing in any house event or even if you're just listening to some music.
I just wish to see a small mouse over effect in volume as I suggested in skin beta testing stage... Can you please listen to your beta test team OtisBee?! ;D ;D ;D ;D
5/5! :)
Thank you again for another top art work!
PS: nice screenshot Xious!!

WOW. This is an amazing skin! If only you could have seen my jaw drop on my desk :P
Today I discovered the usefulness of the lyrics features in CAD. I like the automatic download.
Which brings me to the next subject:
I noticed how the 80 versions have lyrics windows that are equally high as the main window, but less wide, while the lyrics viewer in the full versions are considerably smaller (smaller even than the 80 version), yet a tad bit wider.
It would look better to have the lyrics window equal height as the main window in all modes.
Also, could the shadow effect in the lyrics window be toned down a bit? It's impossible to read the top two lines with the current amount of shadow, regardless of font, font size or font color (I tried several before posting here).
Not looking forward to manually add blank lines to current and future lyrics file, here's hoping you're willing to include these changes in a future update?
Vielen dank, klasse!
PS. could it be the panel is 1 pixel too short? (panel left margin=25, while toolbar left margen=24. when I adjust panel left margin, there's a gap on the right side)

from what i can tell you are an attentive user and i already enjoy your detailed posts.
i think this brengt het forum wat nieuw leven in. :D

well, definitely a matter of taste.
here's my suggestion...
copy paste the Lyrics subfolder from the style you like best into the one you would like a different lyrics viewer to be displayed.
in the next step you open the skin editor, apply the style which had the better lyrics viewer by default and click on edit.
on the bottom left of the skin editor you can see a link called Menu. click on it and chose Batch Tool.
in the left column you select the style you just copied the changed lyrics viewer graphics to and in the right column you select Lyrics.
http://img254.imageshack.us/img254/1830/snapshot200712092mw4.png
finally click Run and you're done. ;)

an upcomming update of ThaScreenario will show the very first line of the lyrics right in the center of the lyrics viewer (no transparency changes for the overlay planned so far).
if you'd like to fix the position the lyrics would start (without leaving the assigned viewer area) you can do this already by changing the according pad value (top) in skin editor >> Lyrics >> Text position fine adjustment.

I had been wanting to use this skin, but couldn't find a good desktop background until now.

Where are the Open & Amazon/Google/Discogs buttons like in your screenshot here (http://i4.tinypic.com/8506kon.jpg)?
Great skin by the way, thanks!

thx Yochanan.
i appreciate that!
nice wall btw.
the skin definitely looks nice on it.
:D
once the panel is visible you have to click on the 3rd button from the left of those 5 buttons on the left.
http://i2.tinypic.com/8fw8x76.png
this is the trigger for the extended panel which actually hosts the mentioned 'open', 'amazon', 'google' and 'discogs' links.
;)
thx again!

hello this skin What the player Winamp or wmp?

Hi narch and welcome to the forum. :)
This isn't a skin for none of them. In fact it is a skin for "CD Art Display" (CAD). This is a frontend/application to use with similar media players.
"CD Art Display (formerly Winamp CD Case) is a free desktop program that shows the current song cover in a skinnable display."
It offers full control of your media player's basic functions, while the player is in the background. Many more features like fullscreen skins, cover and lyrics search, easy to use Skin Editor...
Take a look here (http://www.cdartdisplay.com/index.php?categoryid=13).
And this is CAD's forum. ;D
