Hi,
First off this is a port of a cool AveTunes Desklet by TechDBZ http://techdbz.deviantart.com/ (permission included in zip)
I just ported it over for CD Art Display because I really liked it. It's very simple! Unzip the file to your skins folder but install the fonts first that are included. The Hashonboat style is zoomed to 175% because my screen resolution is 1680 x 1050 and I modded it a bit for my liking.
I hope you like it too. :)
Thanks to Carlos for the toolbar graphics!
UPDATE: Otisbee, I think this is now (hopefully) a proper port. I have my own mod as a style. I swear I will make some more styles like 180 as soon as possible. Thanks for the nudge.
UPDATE: 27 Jan 2008 - Added/Corrected author info + 180 style

hi hashonboat!
TechDBZ has created some great looking AveTunes Desklets and this is one of them.
a pity though that you haven't ported the skin like it was originally created (font faces, text alignments or case zoom).
well, you already mentioned that you have a large screen and the skins by TechDBZ are indeed very tiny, but as a skinner myself i prefer ports to be as close to the original as possible.
actually your work can be more considered a modded port.
personally i would have liked your mod to be an additional style appart from an original port.
also, you should give some credits to Carlos as well, because he's the one who originally created the toolbar graphics.
perhaps you can add both the credits to TechDBZ and Carlos to the skin's skin.ini along with your own Author and Contact details (which are missing as well).
in resume i want to point out that i didn't mean to offend you in any way. thanks for your effort and maybe you'd like to change the things mentioned above in a future update.
thx again!

Yes, I did think about that later. I'll work on that this weekend. Thanks. As you can see I know nothing about posting, crediting, etc.

cool!
:D
that's better. ;)
...just one thing though... ::)
since this is a skin port i highly recommend to add your name and maybe your mail-adr. to the skin's skin.ini.
besides it would be cool if you'd add the credits for TechDBZ as well.
just open the skin.ini in any text editor (windows' default would also do the job) and make some sort of the following entry:
[Author]
author=hashonboat
contact=xx@xx.xx
comments=all credits go out to TechDBZ who gave me permission to use his graphics
xx@xx.xx = your email adress. (optional)
it doesn't matter if you'd add this to the end or the start of the other entries.
once these author details are included it can't be said that the graphics used by the skin might be free of use and therefor it would be easier to proof that the graphics were owned by someone.
other than that, you've made a nice effort to create a cool skin port!
thx a lot! :)

it's me again.
:D
i've recognized that you've already included the author details to the skin.ini which is fine.
but unfortunately it is necessary to make some changes again.
you see each CAD element has a certain string inside that skin.ini (i.e. [Settings], [Lyrics] and so on) and so does the author details [Author].
so in order to do it right you have to cut out the existing author details from your skin.ini and fill them in again right underneath that mentioned [Author] item so it would look like this:
[Author]
author=hashonboat
contact=xx@xx.xx
comments=all credits go out to TechDBZ who gave me permission to use his graphics
xx@xx.xx = your email adress
once done i'm going to upload your skin to our Skin Gallery ASAP.
just leave a short message (either via PM or post reply) when you've made the changes and when you've uploaded the skin again.
sorry for not being clear enough in the first place and please appologize the inconvenience.
kind regards....

Updated.
Now has default, 180 + my personal style.
New download link & preview in first post.
Thanks to TechDBZ, Carlos & OtisBee for skin graphics & guidance. I think the next one I do will be easier (I hope)
Enjoy!

great!
:D
thx for the update!
one tiny little thing though...
...i've noticed that the position for textline1 in your 180° style is set to be over the case (cover).
to be precise it's set to a pad value of -816 instead of -615 like for the other lines 2-4.
is it intentional?
if not could you fix that again?
and if you do, perhaps you can adjust the textline heights for all textlines to a value of 20.
you wouldn't notice a difference between a height of 50 and 20 rightaway, but you would as soon as you load a track with very very looooooooooooooooooooooooooong album or title names.
it's getting kinda funny...
...i'm causing so many updates (or uploads) in such a short period of time.
;D ;D ;D
i'm very sorry hashonboat. :-\
i'm glad you're still listening. ;)
thx!

OK I found out (the hard way) the relationship between the width, pad and max characters.
That was not intentional. It was because I didn't have enough room for really long song names. I've fixed it. I used a song that had 87 characters in the name. I also put room in for long album names since I also found out all lines need to be the same or at least real close to the same width to have the pad come out correctly.
New download link in first post.
whew!

;D
i've just uploaded your skin to our gallery (link) (http://www.cdartdisplay.com/index.php?categoryid=2&p13_sectionid=3&p13_fileid=76) and i think we both deserve to sit back and relax now.
thx for always being patient and of course for all your effort.
oh, and thx again for a nice and clean skin port.
;)
