CAD RC4 Build 500 (31 Jul 2006)

- CADPinHelper module added (*)
- CAD will read the "RATING" frame from a mp3 (for foobar2000)
- Bugs fixed and some improvements added

(*) This module (CADPinHelper.exe) will be started once CAD is pinned to desktop and it's useful if explorer crashes then CAD will be restarted after all. Without the new module CAD just stops working. If you don't want to use it just don't copy it to CAD folder.

i think you broke the rating functionality. i use CAD's own rating system and with this new build, i can't see what rating the song has. i can't even set the rating.

Really? :o

I didn't change anything at all regarding this feature. Maybe Vista was updated to accept old GDI calls.

Anyway great news! Thx! :)

Hey remember that I told you that when a song without cover was paused and they played again show the nocover.png image as your DP instead of the Default DP that you choose on CAD? your solution was to replace nocover.png with my DP and it's what i'm doing right now, but actually is very annoying, any plans on fixing this?

Help! I just tried to play a CD in WinAmp for the first timne in a long time (I usually play MP3's) and WinAmp successfully found the CDDB info, but CAD doesn't get updated with the artist\track info and therefore can't find teh artwork on Amazon. I have tried multiple CD's too...none work. But all my MP3's are fine. What did I do????

Carlos

1) CAD was not designed to work with CDs
2) However, CAD should take the Winamp title to display, at least, the artist and title
3) Winamp does not notify when it got the CD information from the internet, so CAD may not update its information
4) to search for a cover you have to check "Promp before" or make a manual search (using right click context menu)
5) it's possible to use the Winamp title feature to get the album name too but I still need to make some improvements to work properly with CD-Rom.

Oh man...I feel like a total dork. It's been sooo long since I tried to play a CD that I totally forgpt the CAD was for MP3's only!!!

Am I the only one that is having problems with covers not changing automatically? Half of the time it just gets stuck and i have to manually force it redraw.

I am using the winamp 5.24. All my mp3 have covers embedded in the id3 tag.

Any ideas how to fix this?

Can you check if you are able to reproduce the issue with the same song all the time?

Can you send me two of your problematic songs?

I managed to reproduce and track down the problem. If the album name is the same the picture isnt reloaded. You are probably expecting the picture to remain the same but thats not always the case. Especially not in my case because i use unknown for album name for those songs that are not part of an album that i have.

I know it would be smarter to leave the album tag empty, but thats the only way around some ipod bug.

jakob,

Add the following line in CAD "settings.ini":

RefreshCover=1

This option will make CAD refresh the cover everytime a track is changed.

It works now. I had to put it on top. If it was the last line it didnt work. Perhaps there is a bug and the last line isnt parsed.

I forgot to say that you had to restart CAD.

Unicode support would have to be added for that.

Carlos

Yep! But for now just partial unicode. :(
