Macro Runner Beta 4 Build 693 (01 Aug 2006)
- New %newfileinfolder% tag (*)
- Run and wait bug fixed
- Some improvements
(*) This feature makes possible some more powerful and flexible macros, e.g.:
1) You can set the first item to rar or zip a folder ("Run Application or file>Windows (Run)": select the your archiver program and write its command line)
2) as the second item you can add an "If Statement>Folder content changes" and select the folder where the rar or zip file will be compressed (saved)
3) finally you can add an "Internet>FTP - Upload" item and the "Upload..." will be %newfileinfolder% and the "Remote location" will be e.g. files\%newfileinfolder% (folder files)
What will happen: MR will execute the compression task and while the compression is done MR will watch the folder (will keep track of new files copied to the folder) and the FTP item will be executed after the new file is compressed and saved to the watched folder; and the %newfileinfolder% tag is exactly the file that was compressed, the new file that was saved in that watched folder; so you may have some dynamic filenames for the e.g. backup procedure; you can use MR to make a backup task (using your compression program) and send the file to a remote location via FTP automatically.
I hope I was clear! :)
