CAD RC4 Build 758 (11Sep06)

- Morrir effect added (*)
- Improved notifier background support (**)
- Small bugs fixed

(*) there is no user interface to add or adjust the mirror effect (just the "skin.ini"); the mirror effect may depend on the case image itself; the mirror effect may use more CPU (reduce the zoom may help); with the zip two skins using the mirror: "Cover Mirrored" and "Case Mirrored" (this by Zaft). This is the first Mirror effect release and some procedures were not updated yet. Use it just for testing.

(**) the 2005 default CAD skin is back! :)

The mirror effect doesn't work on Vista :?
Only the case frame is mirrored (and not the image).

I'll keep you posted on other Vista-related bugs as I see them :)

edit: oops, mirror effect works if I right click CAD.exe, click on compatibility tab and check the box "Disable Desktop Composition".

This setting disables transparency of the vista windows (see-through effect).

Hi Carlos!
I have the latest build (758) and I noticed that if I use large fonts the notifier does not appear. I use only 2 lines (artist and song title), the font is arial bold and the skin is Vinyl Reloaded. For example, it works for artist (size 48 ) and song title (size 36) but if I change the song title font to 48, the notifier won't appear. I thought it may me useful for you to know. Otherwise ... EXCELLENT JOB! :)

Did you change something? the 3 mirrored skins seems to work now without any modification in Vista :o

Also, I can right click the cover when Fade Effect is active... This is weird.
It happened before and went away some time later. Keyword is beta I guess :roll:

Usually I keep the Fade Effect option set to none cause it doesn't work in Vista. If it's on, when you right click the CD Case or the skin showing the cover you right click through it like if you'd right click the desktop behind it...

On another topic, I'm listening to a web radio right now, is there a way to remove the prefix "Web Radio -" from the title passed to WLM ?

Right now I have:

%artist% - %title% < now broadcasting - http://jorell.servemp3.com:8000/listen.pls

and I'm getting:

Web radio - Artist - Title < now broadcasting - http://jorell.servemp3.com:8000/listen.pls

and I checked the web radio I'm listening to, it doesn't have a Web Radio - perfix in Winamp...

maybe you can eliminate that error message for songs without tags... I use a remote control for winamp an it would be nice get rid of that message without a mouse click... tks :D

When I bring up a song without an album, it displays "Unknown"

Is it possible to have it display nothing for songs without albums, and the album name for songs with an album?

Hi Carlos i'm using Lucid White skin on the last build (777 as i'm writing) but when i enable the mirror effect the "no cover" image turns black insted of being transparent. I tried to understand the problem and i can say that as i add the voice "Mirror=1" to the skin.ini the black "no cover" shows up, deleting the mirror voice make all turn to normal. The same thing happen to Lucid Black skin and Horizon. Is there a way to fix this or it's my fault?

The mirror effect creates a solid image (cover or nocover or other image) in order to keep blending the effect on the desktop.

It's not a bug it's the way the mirror effect works.

Did you make the case mirror effect (like in the "Case Mirrored" skin)?

If so send it to me and I'll see what I can do to hide the mirror effect when there is no cover.

Hey Carlos.

Thank you fot this great software. I am also using Vista now and try to help if something isn't working.

It think the software has improved a lot since the last version on fileforum.betanews.com . (April) It would be great if you could bring out an new RC, or update your software on betanews.com, because lot more people will have access to this great tool.

- the transition effect (fade) will occur only in cover area now (see ReadMe inside the zip)
- added "Centre Pin" skin so you can test the new rotation feature
- Changed the treeview control for a Microsoft one (*)

(*) you may need to copy and register it (e.g. if Control Panel doesn't show up); see Readme.txt for details or wait "RC5 Preview" with a full setup
