hi!
recently i found an image of a scrunched up sheet of paper (link) (http://nasrian.deviantart.com/art/torn-and-folded-paper-45556771)
and i thought that it might look cool as a texture overlay for a CAD skin.
nothing special, actually
but i thought i'd release it anyway.

I like a lot, i'm using it actually and it's more infrequent that i have a third party skin on my desktop since i make them on my own to fit my needs.
I would have like a non transparent playback buttons and i've just discovered a progress toolbar below the title :o
Thanks for that skin :)
EDIT: The rating is really s.e.x.y and calibri font is definitely a good choice.

you're most welcome, Carlos! :D
i also love those simple and minimalistic (classic) skins very much.
...and since CAD has got this cool feature to have textline1 as a progressbar i can have all the accessibility that i need in a skin while still keeping it simple.
thanks! ;)

well, i wanted the skin to have as less elements as possible, while at the same time offering as much functionality as possible.
that's why i decided to make the toolbar invisible.
sorry, but i'm not going to add more visibility to that toolbar. :-\
as to the fonts and ratings, i totally agree with you. ;D
i like them a lot, too.
thx very much for your feedback! ;)

Phantastic work, my friend!
The idea to give the cover an old paper structure is great!
Especially on dark covers. I have tried to enhance the view on bright covers too.
But in my results the darker covers didn't show much of the effect, while the brighter ones looked good and clear (good saturation).
Seems we can't have both. :)
The ratings are extremely well done. You told me which font you used for that. Amazing! Very smooth mouseover, while the graphic itself looks crystal-clear.
Using the transparent toolbar buttons is quite clever and an option for future skins I do. ;D
And the different styles should serve anyone's taste.
All in all: A clever and attractive concept. Clean, simple and an eyecatcher... 5/5
(Take a look at the attached image below to see it in action on my desk...)

Kraft paper effect; this skin have a true meaning sometimes. ;D
Finally, i get used to that transparent toolbar. It was just puzzling at the beginning.
A little jewel that i conserve preciously.

@ barberio:
thanks, bro.
...i very much appreciate your detailed and thorough feedback.
the overlay certainly looks better on darker covers, but afterall i think that it's still visible enough on rather bright ones.
i made some tests using a 30% opaque case.png (instead of the current 20%) and unfortunately the colors from the cover shining through from underneath that case.png are a lot less intensive (or even vibrant) then. that's why i decided to keep the actual appearance. ;)
well, thanks again for your kind feedback. :D
@ 2Cool4Mac:
nice little screenie.
i'm glad you came to like the toolbar. :D
thanks again. ;)

I made some tests using the original paper template. I made a semi-transparent brush from that one and tried different settings. There wasn't any white in there. So on dark (or black) covers the effect wasn't visible at all.
I think, your version is a good compromise. ;)
