Pure Adium port for CD Art Display.

Download here.

Its a minimal, stylish skin with the basic requirements. I use it with Winamp classic to save memory, and it goes well with the Pure Adium skin for Miranda. Control buttons come up on mouse-over.

Hope there's some of you'll who find a use for it, since this is my attempt at a CAD skin

...and it's looking really great.
well done!

however i have some minor recommendations...

1- ...i figured that you've set "Calibri" as the skin's font. although "Calibri" is a Vista system font and wouldn't be reported as "missing" if the skin would be applied in a Vista environment the "Calibri" font however isn't part of an XP (or prior OS's) installation and would cause CAD to report a missing font accordingly.
you can avoid that by simply adding a "Fonts" folder to your skin with the "Calibri" fontfile inside of that folder.
you know, CAD2.0 is checking for missing fonts automatically and as soon as it would find a "Fonts" folder with fonts not yet installed in the current system, it would prompt the user whether he (she) would like to install the required fonts or not. if confirmed with "yes" CAD would open up both the system fonts folder and the skin's "Fonts" folder, so the user can easily copy/paste (install) the according files.

2- ...also i've recognized that your skin doesn't provide any preview image. perhaps you'd like to add the forum's skin preview to your skin folder? this way your skin would get a nice image to represent your skin in CAD's skin browser.
well, think about it.

the following suggestions can be considered the more "matter-of-taste" type of suggestions...

...for example i've recognized that the skin's dropshadow is smoothly fading out to both sides left and right, but unfortunately looks "cut off" towards the bottom. (see attached screenshot for a better understanding )
i think it would look better if the shadow would fade out at the bottom as well.

...as a frequent listener to some long-titled tracks (i.e. "blahblah and the blahblahblahs - blah (dub temple special moonlight remix)") i came to appreciate the horizontal textscrolling feature a lot. perhaps you'd like to configure some textscrolling for the used textlines1-3?
don't get me wrong, you seemed to have configured your skin very thoroughly and so you might have chosen the current setting for a clean intention. if that's the case ....nevermind. as i said above, it's just a matter of taste.
but maybe you'd like to give it a second thought.

in case you'd change your mind, here are some "max. char." values that should work fine:
textline1 = 36
textline2 = 40
textline3 = 28
(if "horizontal textscrolling" would be activated, you might want to adjust the textlines position by moving them 2 steps to the right. besides, you might want to check the "scroll divider size" as well)

yeah, i know i can be very picky sometimes. :-\
again: it's just a matter of taste.

your skin is already great.
minimal and stylish.

thx for the share.

Pretty nice. Gonna redo the controls, because for me, they look sorta outta place. I like to make the top part of the album art clickable and that plays/pauses the music, and the bottom left and right as the next and previous buttons. I'm gonna be using this one for awhile and probably in my next screenshot.

Thanks for the very detailed feedback. I appreciate it, since this is my 1st skin, and those are all great points

Im definitely going to add #1 and #2 as well as fix that shadow property which I didnt realise. The text scrolling tho, you're right, I did that to keep things clean, and well I use C.A.D just as a visual for aesthetic purposes. The max text is already at higher values than the ones you suggested.

Will post here, when Ive updated it

Glad to hear ya like it. And those are nice ideas. Send me a copy if you like, I'll add it to the download here and on deviant art

Updated in the first post. Fixed a few bugs

1. Shadow at the bottom edge fixed.
2. Fonts added.
3. Text scrolling added.

How do I post this skin in the "skins Gallery" for people to download?

I want to add a few more versions to it first before putting it up though, like a 180 degrees version and the one Sebastian sent me.
