CD Art Display 2.0 Released

After a long period of tests and builds CD Art Display 2.0 (final) is available for all! FileForum, our official file host provider, still lists as a beta but it's in fact the final version.

There a lot of new features, including Skin Editor with real time preview, slideshow, full screen skin, screensaver module, several skin elements and so on.

Along with the release let me remember all that CD Art Display has, thanks to OtisBee, its own skin gallery at deviantArt.

CD Art Display 3.0 Beta (May 2009 - May 2010)

New features:

  • new "one way" cover transition
  • skinned volume
  • lyrics scrollbar
  • %volumenum% tag (e.g. Line 1 just to display volume)
  • %ratingnum% tag (numeric rating information)
  • %trackpercent% tag
  • coveroverlay.png (overlay drawn ONLY over cover)
  • improved cover radius feature
  • new Notifier (toaster) feature with several skinning options
  • minimize feature will not hold CAD song information update anymore (e.g. cover)
  • case hotspot can be used to show notifier
  • new hotkey to show notifier
  • SDK
  • text rotation for lines 1, 2 and 3
  • reserve desktop space for CAD
  • Windows 7 taskbar cover support
  • Single rating icon in system tray
  • 5/5 rating stars as system tray icon
  • Notifier text setting is used not only by the system Balloon tip but also by CAD default Notifier (“Options>Notification”)
  • customize system tray icon single click action (“Options>Notification”)
  • redesigned CAD “Options>Notifier” (some settings were reset due the new features)
  • set full screen skin background opacity
  • quit iTunes when CAD is exited
  • MediaMonkey API implementation (2nd step: several improvements)
  • Windows 7: settings and skins under AppData folder to improve compatibility
  • Drag & Drop a skin folder over CAD to copy it to CAD Skins folder
  • Skin Editor: added link to open Skins folder in Explorer (for easier access)
Bugs fixed:
  • line 5 rating tag issue
  • CAD was crashing when turning or logging off Windows (03Nov2009)
  • %rating% tag not updating
  • progress bar knob out of the skin area
  • click through bug
  • case hotspot + mirror bug fixed
  • minimize iTunes when CAD starts it
  • search cover string issues
